What is Mental Retardation?
Mental Retardation is not a disease, nor is it a mental disorder. It is a disability characterized by limited intelligence skills and adaptive behaviors.
Even though people with intellectual disabilities react more slowly than others and have communication and social difficulties, they can and do learn new skills through support and instructive tasks and activities.
